Baby sleep consultant in Barcelona and online
Hi, I’m Sophie. I help families understand their baby’s sleep.
I’m a certified Infant & Child Sleep Consultant and former international nanny, specialising in personalised sleep support for babies and toddlers.
- ✓ Certified sleep consultant
- ✓ Infant and toddler specialist
- ✓ Temperament-led support
What worked beautifully for one baby could be completely wrong for another.
The experience that shaped my approach
My story
I have always been drawn to working with babies.
My mum says she always knew I would end up working with them, and she was right.
Before becoming a certified Infant & Child Sleep Consultant, I spent more than five years working as an international nanny, specialising in infants and toddlers.
I cared for babies from different families, cultures and backgrounds, each with their own personality and temperament. Some adapted easily to change. Others needed more time, reassurance and hands-on support.
Those years gave me something I still bring to my work every day: a practical understanding of just how different babies can be.

Parents deserve more than conflicting advice.
While working with families, sleep was a conversation that came up repeatedly. Loving, attentive parents were trying to do their best while navigating endless and often contradictory advice.
“Am I creating bad habits?”
Normal infant needs are often presented as problems. I help parents understand what is developmentally appropriate and what may genuinely be making sleep more difficult.
“Should I follow wake windows?”
Wake windows can be helpful guidelines, but they are not a complete sleep plan. We also consider your baby’s sleep needs, cues, development and temperament.
“Should my baby sleep through the night?”
Night waking can have many causes. We look at feeding, daytime sleep, sleep pressure, settling, development and your baby’s individual needs before recommending changes.
“Why does this work for everyone except us?”
Because there is no method that suits every child. Advice only becomes useful when it is adapted to the baby and family receiving it.
Professional training
Evidence-informed knowledge combined with real-life experience
I trained as an Infant & Child Sleep Consultant to deepen my understanding of infant sleep science, development and healthy sleep foundations.
I completed my certification through Baby Sleep Consultant Training in New Zealand, a science-based programme taught by a multidisciplinary team.
My professional training and years of caring for babies now come together in the way I support families.
My professional foundation includes:
- ✓ Infant and toddler sleep science and development
- ✓ Age-appropriate sleep expectations and sleep needs
- ✓ Feeding, nutrition and their relationship with sleep
- ✓ Sleep environments, routines and settling approaches
- ✓ Safe sleep recommendations and family wellbeing
- ✓ Temperament-led and family-centred sleep planning
The sleep consulting industry is unregulated. Choosing comprehensive, evidence-informed professional training was therefore especially important to me.
My approach
One size does not fit all.
I do not try to make your baby fit a method. We select an approach that fits your child’s needs, temperament and your family’s preferences.
Personalised
Your recommendations are based on your baby’s age, development, sleep needs, routine, environment and current challenges. You will not receive a generic template.
Temperament-led
Some children adapt quickly. Others need more preparation, reassurance or parental presence. Your child’s temperament helps us decide how to introduce changes.
Family-centred
Your parenting philosophy, feeding choices, sleep arrangements and goals matter. We focus on what is not working while respecting what you want to preserve.
Adaptable
A sleep plan is not set in stone. If something is not working, we examine how your baby is responding and adjust the plan rather than forcing the original strategy.
How I can help
Support for common baby and toddler sleep challenges
I provide online baby sleep consultations internationally and in-home sleep support for families in Barcelona and nearby areas.
Frequent night waking
Understanding what may be driving repeated wakes and creating a realistic response plan.
Short or refused naps
Reviewing sleep pressure, timing, environment and how your child settles for daytime sleep.
Early morning waking
Looking at the full 24-hour schedule rather than treating the morning wake in isolation.
Bedtime resistance
Creating clearer expectations and an age-appropriate routine that helps bedtime feel more manageable.
Sleep regressions
Understanding developmental changes and adapting your response without changing everything at once.
Settling support
Choosing an appropriate settling strategy based on your child’s age, temperament and your family’s preferences.
Working together
Clear guidance without judgement
I am not here to tell you how you should parent your baby. I am here to help you understand what is happening, decide what you want to change and give you a clear way forward.
